Dear Watch Member,
To help you recognise and tackle fraud, Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Crime Reduction and Community Safety Department has begun to produce regular updates informing you of common and emerging frauds that are affecting our communities, together with tips to help you stay safe.
Attached is our second edition, containing information about the Telephone Preference Service, Rogue Traders, Bogus FIFA World Cup tickets and advice for booking holidays safely. Acting on feedback from OWL users, we have changed the colours of the update in order to make it easier for you to print and share with your friends and neighbours.
Incidentally, we have received information from colleagues that some residents have not fallen for the “phoney police officer” telephone fraud after they had read about it on OWL. Thank you for reading and sharing this important advice.
